I am 25 now. 25 had always seemed like such a long ways away. It was the future, and a dreaded future at that. Aging is never fun.

Where did I ever imagine myself at 25? I suppose I always saw myself fighting the good fight, engrained in the upper echelons of politics. But that was when I was an impressionable youth. After a few years, a few degrees in Political Science and Computer science, a few minors in Math and Econ, a tour of half the world, and a good measure of political insight later, I stand disillusioned to the entire political process. The fundamentals of Econ still shine bright and true with the axiom that "people respond to incentives", but when those incentives are to encourage an evil and economically illiterate majority to vote, politicians are the first to sell out. I am well convinced hell is full or politicians and lawyers.

I was offered to lead a political campaign in Iowa. I ignored the request and never got another. I ate breakfast in the Capital Building with an up and coming senator. Met Clarence Thomas twice. I had my connections, but I gave them up. All politicians are frauds, and the only way to succeed in politics is to manipulate others and sell out. I predict that from now on in life, write-in candidates will be the path for me. It is better to lose your vote than to lose your immortal soul.

My life is getting better every day, and that is not just due to the natural effects of Capitalism in a relatively economically free society (ranked 6th), but it deals with quality of life as well. Sure, I do not have endless free time as I did in college. But I have traded that for a relatively well paying job with the military and two adorable babies who I love to no end. I have travelled much of the world. 23 countries at last count: Costa Rica, where I eloped for my wedding, Canada where did a lot of underage drinking, most of Europe where I backpacked for a month or so, and Qatar and Iraq where I supported the GWT. My highest priority travel is to Singapore and the rest of Asia and to South America. Hopefully I can do that relatively soon. Most likely my next destination is Afghanistan. We will see where life takes me.

I bought a house. My uncle is a realtor and I called him up one day. He asked me where I wanted to live in town. I told him something he had probably never heard before. I said "somewhere near WalMart." He asked me if I worked there. I laughed. My house is really nice, and I would not move for the life of me.

My art has been the primary causality in my life thus far. It feels like my ideas have been squandered. There are so many stories gone untold. My time has instead been focused in mostly video games, I have mastered BF2 and have produced multiple mods for Fallout 3. It seems like a joke. Time is the one resource which is the most limited. At least I have been able to do a fare amount of studying in that time.

I do not know what the future holds. I will take it as it comes. I always say "things tend to work themselves out". Hopefully that stays true to the end.
